The Women’s Theatre Festival kicks off the month of July with the very funny play PARALLEL LIVES. The play was penned by funny ladies Kathy Najimy and Mo Gaffney (also known as Kathy & Mo), who brought their array of characters to HBO in 1991. Emily Levinstone and Keith Liles take on the roles originated by Kathy and Mo for this production. Levinstone and Liles spoke with me about what this play means to them and the importance of talking about acceptance and human rights. They even introduced me to two of their favorite characters, Madeline and Sylvia, who showed up for the end of our interview (for a good chuckle, fast forward to around the 18:20 mark). PARALLEL LIVES runs through July 7th at Burning Coal Theatre. For more information, visit https://www.womenstheatrefestival.com/paraell-lives.
